What started as an idea blossomed into a full-blown project, spreading across the town and touching more hearts that I could ever imagine.
Hurricane Helene struck North Carolina and Tennessee bringing devastating rains that resulted in catastrophic flooding.
For me, that meant helping in a way that was not possible for me to do at that time. I could not physically drive down and help in the daily life of the people who lost everything. So, I put together a proposal to create bouquets with my sister-in-law and sell them at a local coffee shop and social media. $10 per bouquet with 100% proceeds going towards, "The Kindness Project," stemming from the first project in 2021. The proceeds bought soap making supplies and blank inspirational/motivation cards to send to the affected areas. After connecting with locals in areas of Johnson, TN, and Newland, NC, over 1,000 cards and 1,000 bars of soap were mailed off to families in need of love and prayers. From local businesses including Kuehnert Dairy Farm, BrewHa Coffee, Pettigrew Flowers, Schneider Farms, and others, love brought people together to help those in need.
