Welcome May!

We made it! It is finally May, the days are longer, the sun is shining (well other than the rainy days), the trees are in bloom, and the flowers are starting to come up. April was beautiful, not just the weather but spring was absolutely beautiful. Now it is May and the farm is blossoming with life. The goats are out to pasture and today, May 11th we had our first set of triplets born. Soon, within the next few days we will be in full swing kidding season. I am working on transplanting everything from the greenhouse into the field. The farm stand is up and running and the farmer's markets are about to begin.

This Sunday, May 17th, my husband and I will be celebrating our 1st anniversary. The time really does fly! It feels like we were just preparing for our wedding and I was at my bridal shower. My family was in town, and I would be walking down the aisle a year later. Now, we have established a life together. We work together, we live together, we eat and cook together. We have dinner parties and go out with friends; we love our life that we have built. My husband allows our 2 heelers in the house occasionally to sleep at night (1 is a puppy we got for our wedding and the other is a 10-year-old). On Saturday, we are going to the Peony Festival to celebrate our anniversary in Fishers, Indiana.

This week I have a few orders to fulfill. I am providing 12 bouquets for Arcola's Memorial Day Ceremony and the following week a farmer's market.

May is the start of a new adventure. The days are longer and the sun shines until 9:00pm. I get to be outside and work alongside my family on our beautiful farm. This is the time that we get enough (sometimes more than enough) Vitamin D that makes us happy. The waters warm up to swim in, ice cream sounds good all the time and all we want to do is be outside.

It has been a little chilly lately and the rain has not stopped. This week is supposed to be dry so we are hoping to get out and plant in the field later this week. I am finishing up transplanting and working on direct sowing others- sunflowers, snapdragons, marigolds, zinnias, straflowers, and cosmos. It is already May and my business has grown so much! I have partnered with a venue, have a workshop lined up for June, getting contacts and spreading business. I am so happy and grateful for the community this business brings together! Happy May!
