Crafting a bouquet can be difficult when looking at a collection of flowers or choosing the best fit flowers for what the purpose of the bouquet is. Sometimes, you just need a place to learn and cultivate something for someone as a gift, but it is hard to get started. I've been there and it is difficult at times to get started from scratch. Even when we grow flowers for fun or use as landscaping, it can be hard to figure out what to cut, arrange and how to make the arrangement balanced and not thrown together. Sometimes that works (throwing it together) but sometimes it is a little frustrating.
Saying this, I am hosting a bouquet workshop for all learners, new beginners, experienced artists and all in between. All supplies are provided and you get to take your bouquet home. We will break down the components of a simple wrapped market bouquet, follow a short recipe card and talk about what balance looks like. I will show a wide variety of the different arrangements I have made throughout my experience and talk about balance and movement. We will discuss the importance of knowing what the purpose of the bouquet is for and choosing the right materials for the bouquet including color palates (color theory), base materials (bowl, vase, wrap etc.), recipes, and most importantly, the flowers itself (seasonal).
This workshop is fun for all ages because flowers are for all ages and learning is for all ages. Bring a friend, partner, coworker, relative, or yourself. Again, all supplies are provided, and you can be a beginner or well experienced. The location of this workshop is at The Kyro, located in Churubusco, IN. Tickets are $30/person and light snacks and refreshments are complimentary. Tickets are live now and close the Sunday before the event so I can get an estimate of how many flowers to bring! Please join me for a fun and crafty workshop to learn about how we can take what is provided for us and craft something beautiful together Thursday, June 25th from 6-8pm.
